Write
“My name is ______________.” on the board. Translate (Мене звати…) for the
students. Have each student tell his/her name.
Then,
go around the room again, asking each student to repeat the first sentence
again, and tell his/her age (Скільки вам років?) by answering “I am
_________years old.” Write this model sentence on the board.
Finally,
go around the room for the last time and ask students where they live (Де ви
живете?) and have them answer using “I am from…” (Я з…) Write this on the
board as well.

10 minutes
|
Using
colored paper of red, yellow, or orange, give each student one half of a
sheet of paper. Have the students trace their hands. Then have them write:
My name is
____________.
I am ____________.
I live in
________________.
Have
students cut out their hands (with wrists). Collect the hands. The hands will
now become the “leaves” on the English Club tree. Glue the hands to the
branches of the tree so each student knows he/she is now a part of the
English Club!

|
Gather
students in a large circle; using the paper ball, toss back and forth asking
students questions:
What
is your name?
How
old are you?
Where
are you from?
Students
must answer in complete sentences using the English they have just learned.
